Car drives through Utica business

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - At approximatlely, 4:42 Sunday morning an officer heard the sound of an engine racing and then heard the sound of a loud collision in the downtown area. Upon checking the area, the officer located a motor vehicle accident on Lafayette St. A car went through a downtown Utica business early Sunday morning.

According to Utica police, a car went airborne after hitting a snow bank on Washington Street, and then drove through the North Country Books Inc,. Building, located at 220 Lafayette Street. According to police, 20 year old, Pernell A. Flanders was arrested for DWI and numerous other traffic violations.

Utica police say the passenger was taken to an area hospital.
