UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Prosecutors are charging Christopher White, of Utica with the murder of Hungria Ferreira, but the family of the other victim in this case, Orlando Curtis, feels a sense of relief that something of note has been done in this case.

Muriel Banks, the mother of Orlando Curtis, who was shot and killed November 1, 2007 at 942-944 Stark street, said she is overjoyed with the arrest of Christopher White.

Prosecutors say another man, Marques Williams, was named on the indictment. Authorities have not identified Williams as a murder suspect.

Banks says waiting more than a year to see an arrest was difficult for her and her family.
"It was hard, it was like seeing my kids say who did it, when is it going to end, when is an arrest going to be made," said Banks.

NEWSChannel 2 was unable to reach the family of Ferreira.

White is being held at the Oneida County Jail.
He is due back in court January 6th.
