Deputies arrest man for stealing, crashing car

LOWVILLE, N.Y. (WKTV) - A 26-year-old is behind bars after allegedly stealing a car and then crashing it soon after.

Lewis County Sheriff's say Steven Roy of Lowville was driving a car that had been reported stolen from The Pine Tree Inn in the Town of Greig.

Minutes later, they got a second call that the vehicle had gone off the road along Brantingham Road.

Upon arrival, they noticed a man running from the accident scene. Roy was arrested and faces multiple charges including grand larceny, and DWI.

Roy was arraigned in Turin Town Court and sent to the Lewis County Jail on $5,000 cash bail.
