White arraigned on murder charges in Stark Street shooting

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A man accused of shooting and killing a person in November 2007 was formally arraigned in Oneida County Court Tuesday morning.

Christopher White faces charges of murder, robbery, and criminal possession of a weapon in the death of Hungria Ferreira, 54, outside a Stark Street apartment on November 1, 2007 in what police say was a "drug deal gone bad."

White had hired his own attorney - Frank Policelli, who was in court with him Tuesday morning, as White pleaded not-guilty.

Another man - Marques Williams - was also named with White in the indictment, but is only facing charges in the robbery that resulted in Ferreria's death - not the murder itself.

Another man - Orlando Curtis - was killed in the shootout that night, however, there has been no one charged with Curtis' death.

White will return to court on January 21, and Williams will be formally arraigned on Thursday, January 8.
