District Attorney's Office continues Kimberly Simon investigation

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Oneida County District Attorney Scott McNamara says his office is still getting tips in the Kimberly Simon case on a daily basis. Although, the Simon investigation is technically considered a Cold Case, it remains very active.

Two investigators recently returned from conducting interviews out of state and McNamara says they were very productive.

Perhaps there is a break in the case still to come, McNamara says his office is anticipating the results of new DNA testing that is scheduled to be complete in the next month or two.

"It's a tragedy in more than one way on Steve's part and a tragedy for Kimberly's family I am hoping someday somehow this gets straightened out for Kim and her family," says McNamara.

What about those rumors that keep swirling around that Barnes had some involvement in the murder???

"At this point there is absolutely no evidence that Mr. Barnes had anything do with this," says McNamara.
