Utica mailman saves elderly woman

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Rick Kallen is a postal carrier in the City of Utica, and now the title "hero" has been added to his resume.

During a routine delivery day, Wednesday, Kallen was spotted an 82 year old woman lying at the foot of her steps on Culver Ave.

Kallen picked the woman up, brought her in the home, and woke up her husband. The woman fell while checking her mailbox, and by the time Kallen got there she had been on the ground, in her nightgown, for about a half hour.

"She must of lost her balance, and she ended up down at the foot of these stairs. He (Kallen) brought her up, and brought her in the house and he came after me." said Pat Corriero, the fallen women's husband.

Corriero say his wife did not suffer from any broken bones, just a few bruises.
