Otsego County teen survives accidental shooting

EDMESTON, N.Y. (WKTV) -  A 15-year-old boy is lucky to be alive after a shooting accident in the Town of Edmeston.
    
According to the Otsego County Sheriff's office, the 15-year-old was shot by his 13-year-old friend.
    
The younger boy was playing around with a .22 rifle without parental permission.  The child thought the gun was unloaded, so he then removed the weapon's gun lock, shooting his friend in the abdomen.

The young teen is only facing juvenile delinquency charges, but if he were tried as an adult he could have faced reckless endangerment and second degree assault charges.
