New York's very own Iditarod takes place in the Adirondacks

By WKTV News

INLET, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Adirondack's version of the legendary iditarod took place as participants hit the trail in the New York State Championship. The fresh snow and cold temperatures were the perfect conditions for sled dogs and their mushers.

Teams geared up to compete in sled dog races and ski driver races. Families came from all over New England to race and cheer on these athletic canines.

The big question: which dog will be bringing home first place?

The winners of the races will be recognized at a ceremony on Febuary 22 at the finish line.
