(WKTV) - 24th Congressional District Representative Michael Arcuri says he is glad New York Regional Interconnect has pulled the plug on its proposed power line through Central new York.

Arcuri, talking on NEWSChannel 2 Weekend Today Saturday Morning wanted to thank specifically all of the citizens groups that formed to fight the NYRI Project.

Arcuri has fought the project since its inception three years ago.

NYRI decided not to go further in a surprising move on Friday, just days after the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission made a ruling that could make it difficult for the group of investors to make money off of the project.
