SWINE FLU UPDATE:

Concerns continue to mount around the world as more and more cases of swine flu are reported.

President Obama is asking all Americans to take extra care to prevent the spread of the Swine flu while the government prepares for fighting a possible pandemic.

The Fabius Pompey School District - 10 miles from Syracuse is closing for the next two days as a precautionary measure after preliminary testing showed a female student with the swine flu.

It's latest in several suspected cases in New York State.

State officials say they are awaiting final confirmation on their preliminary tests form the federal centers for disease control.

However, local health officials say the student did not need hospitalization and is recovering.

Locally, four possible cases being tested in Lewis County, and three in Oneida County. No reported cases in Herkimer or Otsego Counties.

MEDICAL LAWSUIT
$102 million - that is what Slocum Dickson Medical Group is seeking through a lawsuit filed against St. Elizabeth Medical Center and the Mohawk Valley Heart Institute.

Documents allege that St. Elizabeth Medical Center and the Mohawk Valley Heart Institute and intentionally directed business Slocum Dickson.

St. Elizabeth Medical Center released a statement saying that they will vigorously fight the allegations.

HAMMER ATTACK:
A Utica man is facing charges of assault after he reportedly attacked several people on Henry Street with a hammer.

Michael Hamilton, 38, had fled the scene when police arrived to find a victim suffering a head injury, but caught up with him later yesterday evening as he attempted to feel the scene of another altercation.
