NFL Superstar and Proctor graduate Will Smith helps to honor local high school athletesNEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - NFL superstar and Utica native Will Smith was in town Saturday night. Smith, who is the founder of the "Where There's A Will, There Is A Way" Foundation was at Danielle's Banquet Facility for an event honoring local area high school athletes. One of Smith's message to them was if you work hard, football will take you wherever you want to go. Smith, who just signed a big contract with the New Orleans Saints says, he does not mind coming back home Will Smith, the Proctor graduate turned New Orleans Saints Defensive End said, "I do so much community services in the New Orleans area why not do some stuff where I grew up. I grew up in Utica and as much as I can do with my success, why not do it." Smith says he thinks the Saints will be a Playoff contender this year.
