Web site and ad campaign launched to oppose Partnership Plan

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - In response to recent advertisements asking you to support the Oneida Indian Nation-Oneida County Partnership Plan, county leaders who oppose the plan announced their own ad campaign.

www.saveoneidacounty.com is already up on the internet, and a commercial will soon be coming. The Democratic Minority Leader of the Oneida County Legislature, Michael Hennessy, says the ads are meant to inform the public about why they feel the deal is bad, and to urge them to talk to their legislators.

"We're not against a settlement, or against getting this getting resolved, in a fair and equitable way," Hennessy said. "This offer would be funny if it wasn't such a serious issue."

Hennessy says commercials will start airing on cable on Thursday.
