Authorities search for suspect in Edmeston bank robbery
The NBT Bank on West Main Street in Edmeston, N.Y. was robbed Tuesday, May 19 shortly after 9 a.m. (ERIC TUTTLE / WKTV) EDMESTON, N.Y. (WKTV) - Authorities are on the hunt for a suspect involved in a Tuesday morning robbery of the NBT in Edmeston just after 9 a.m. According to the Otsego County 911 Center, the Sheriff's Department is on the scene along with the New York State Police. No one is in custody at this time and it's not known how much, if any, money was taken from the Edmeston branch. The Edmeston Central School District is on lockdown at this time following reports that the suspect is on foot. New York Central Mutual Insurance is also on lockdown. The suspect, seen hanging around the bank before the robbery occurred, is described by State Police as a white male, 6'3", 200-240 pounds, with a mustache and black hair. The suspect was last seen wearing a forest green Carhart-style jacket, with a hooded sweatshirt underneath, and a black baseball hat. This man was last seen fleeing eastward on State Route 80.
