Dinosaur BBQ Reopens

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Dinosaur BBQ, in Syracuse, officially reopened its doors yesterday, after temporarily shutting down when several people reported getting sick after eating there.

The popular biker restaurant shut down Thursday evening through Sunday after the Onondaga County Health Department started to receive complaints. Health Commissioner Dr. Cynthia Morrow said more than 1,100 people called the department during the weekend to report they became sick.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention was notified of the outbreak of gastrointestinal illness because people who ate at the Dinosaur BBQ may have come from across the country.

Preliminary testing ruled out food poisoning or bacteria. Health officials said the ailment could have been caused by an airborne virus.
