UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Newly appointed Utica Police Chief Dan LaBella had to come out of retirement to assume the post.

That means that LaBella will have to pay back four years of pension payments he received, plus interest!

The new chief didn't want to talk exact figures, but acknowledged it will easily be tens of thousands of dollars.

LaBella is meeting with a financial advisor about payment options; he has a year to decide how to pay back the money.
