FRANKFORT, N.Y. (WKTV) - A late night party in the village of Frankfort turned violent, when a neighbor allegedly tried to quiet things down using a variety of weapons.

Frankfort police said Daniel Rivett, 29, became upset that his neighbors on Second Avenue were having a party with a fire around 3 a.m. Thursday. They said Rivett grabbed a machete from his home and threatened the neighbors with it.

They said he then went back to his house, allegedly grabbed a 12-gauge shotgun and a bandoleer, and returned to the neighbor's house. Rivett allegedly pointed the gun up in the air and fired off three shots, police said.

Village police arrived on the scene shortly after the shots were fired. They said they confiscated all of the weapons and arrested Rivett.

He's in the Herkimer County jail on $1,500 cash bail or $3,000 bond. Rivett is charged with 2nd degree menacing, reckless endangerment, and second degree harassment.
