Herkimer man charged with breaking into Utica home; threatening victim with weapon

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Herkimer man has been charged in a break-in and armed threat at a West Utica home last November.

According to Utica Police, Charles A. Major, 33, of Herkimer, entered a West Utica residence last November and threatened the victim with "what appeared to be a firearm."

The suspect appeared "what appeared to be a shotgun" at the victim and struck the victim with it while demanding money. Police say no money was actually taken.

After a several month investigation, police located Major, who was arrested and is now facing charges of burglary and attempted robbery.
