TOWN OF WESTERN, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Town of Steuben man is seriously injured after his car slammed into a tree. Oneida County Sheriff deputies said Joshua Sipley, 24, was intoxicated when he crashed his car.

Deputies said Sipley was driving at an unsafe speed on Carmichael Hill Road in the Town of Western, when his car began to slide sideways. They said Sipley couldn't correct the vehicle, and slid across a lawn before hitting the tree.

Emergency crews rushed Sipley to Saint Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica. He's being treated for a fractured left shoulder, brain hemorrhage and fractured vertebrae.

Sheriff deputies charged him with DWI and issued him several traffic tickets.
