Art festival kicks off holiday weekend

UTICA,N.Y. (WKTV) - The art festival is in full swing in downtown Utica. Friday kicked off the 2009 Arts Festival at Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute.

One of the highlights is the sidewalk art show. This is its 70th year!

Organizers say that the festival is about more than just art..."art is part of the community and the community comes out every year and not only creates the art that is in the show, but the community comes out and supports the art," says Joe Schmidt.
