Man attempts to flee officers in Sylvan Beach after being arrested for drug and alcohol possession
SYLVAN BEACH, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Watertown man is in custody after police say it was discovered he was in possession of drugs and alcohol and then attempted to run away from authorities while being arrested.
According to the Oneida County Sheriff's Department, 20-year-old Bradley Lettiere of Watertown was walking on Main Street in the Village of Sylvan Beach at around 4:00 p.m. Saturday. He was stopped by police for violating an alcohol beverage control law. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Lettiere was also in possession of marijuana. When the deputy attempted to arrest Lettiere, he began to resist and attempted to flee on foot. The deputy said he was able to subdue Lettiere after a short struggle, which resulted in damage to a nearby parked vehicle. After Lettiere was in custody, he was found to be in possession of several Ecstasy tablets. Lettiere was charged with unlawful possession of alcohol under the age of 21, unlawful possession of marijuana, criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal mischief and resisting arrest. Lettiere was arraigned in the Village of Sylvan Beach Court and sent to the Oneida County Jail in lieu of $1,500 bail. Lettiere is scheduled to reappear in court in August. |
