Motorcyclist sent to hospital after being hit by car in WhitesboroWHITESBORO, N.Y. (WKTV) - A man has been hospitalized after a driver hit his motorcycle while driving on Oriskany Boulevard, according to Whitesboro Police. The collision took place at 192 Oriskany Boulevard near the intersection of Roosevelt Drive in front of Ray's Repair Shop shortly before 10:00 p.m. Wednesday. Police say 66-year-old James B. Hayes was driving his motorcycle east when the driver of the car, 17-year-old Erica A. Wilczynski, turned left into Nice & Easy without yielding. Hayes was transported to St. Elizabeth Medical Center. He was conscious at the scene but did seem to have injuries. The extent of those injuries are unknown at this time. A portion of Oriskany Boulevard was shutdown from Clinton Street to Westmoreland Street, but has since re-opened. Wilczynski was ticketed for failure to yield and driving past 9:00 p.m. According to New York State DMV documents, in Upstate New York a person holding a junior license may drive alone after 9:00 p.m. only when traveling directly between their home and employment or a school course.
