Springfield residents concerned proposed music fest could become "another Woodstock"

SPRINGFIELD, N.Y. (WKTV) - It might not be the size of Woodstock '99, but some residents in the Town of Springfield are concerned the proposed "Springfield Music and Arts Festival" might rival it.

Mary Clarke, the chairperson of the planning board says she doesn't expect that to happen.

"The Springfield Music and Arts Festival will be very different than Woodstock," Clarke said. "Only a limited number of tickets will be sold, to control the amount of people attending the event."

The goal is to sell 75,000 tickets, but right now, plans for the festival are on hold.

Madison Square Garden Entertainment still needs to complete an environmental impact statement, which they were asked to do back in December.
