Fallen Hero comes home

ONEIDA, N.Y. (WKTV) - He was supporting combat operations in Afghanistan when he was killed. He left behind a wife and son. Now, Lance Corporal Jeremy Lasher has returned home to Central New York.

It's a sad day in Oneida, many are still in shock. One of their own perished fighting overseas. Aside from the sadness, there's also a sense of pride.

A motorcade is escorting the body of Lance Corporal Jeremy Lasher, 27, from the Griffiss International Airport in Rome.

From there, the motorcade will head to Oneida and travel through Main Street. Oneida mayor Peter Hedglon said parking will be limited on Main Street. He said side streets will be blocked off prior to and during passage of the motorcade. LCpl. Lasher's body will then be taken to the Campbell-Dean funeral home.
