UPD: 200 people involved in Oneida Square incident, reportedly fighting

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Several people were arrested early Sunday morning following a large fight in Oneida Square that police say involved up to 200 people.

At about 12:13 a.m. Sunday morning, the Utica Police Department received reports of a fight in the area of Oneida Square. Upon arriving on scene, officers said they found roughly 200 people acting in a disorderly fashion.

Individual groups were fighting or walking in the roadways, disrupting vehicle traffic, police said.

Utica Police officers say they began dispersing small groups only to get resistance from some individuals who refused to comply with officers' orders to leave the area. Because of this, multiple people were arrested for disorderly conduct.

Authorities said two females came to the scene and interfered with the arrests, and, in turn, these females were also arrested.

Police say that no one was injured, and the incident is still investigation. 

Arrests Made:

  • Three juveniles, released to parent/guardian
  • Ann Sheppard, age 48 - obstructing governmental administration
  • Jessie Anderson, age 38 - harassment, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest
  • Sanel Nadarevic, age 16 - disorderly conduct
  • Ray Mungo, age 16 - disorderly conduct
  • Louis Rodriguez, age 16 - disorderly conduct
 All people involved reside in the City of Utica.
