Arcuri responds to outbursts at House Majority Leader's Utica press conference

(WKTV) - With much attention given to recent outbursts at various town hall meetings around the country, Congressman Michael Arcuri is responding to those, including one right here in Utica.

Arcuri says he has been so busy the last few days that he actually has not seen any national television shows that aired the clip of Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, going back and forth with Tea Party organizer Don Jeror.

Arcuri says he has been working in the district the past week, on his recess, so he has not caught any television shows.

He did say he heard about Tuesday's outburst being on TV and radio.

He says just this past week he held a town hall meeting in Cortland, that he says went very well with no interruptions.

When asked about it, Arcuri says to him it is obvious the outbursts are quote "fame and put on."

He says he does welcome talk about the controversial health care bill, especially since he hasn't made up his mind yet...but he says that talk has to be cordial.

"I haven't made a decision on what I am going to do. I really want to know and get feedback and urge people to look come out I need to talk to you I need to hear from you, but we need to have good dialogue obviously positive productive dialogue that's what democracy is all about and that's what I look forward to," he says.

Arcuri does have another town hall meeting scheduled for Monday August 17th in Floyd.

That meeting will discuss and address additional issues and concerns over the radio tower in Floyd.
