Police: Madison County businessman sold cars with false warranties
ONEIDA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The owner of an automotive shop in Madison County has been arrested after customers were promised an extended warranty through a third-party company but the paperwork was never filed.
According to New York State Police, 33-year-old Damian Croyle of Damian's Automotive sold customers extended warranties through Auto Services Company, Inc in May of 2007. Customers then attempted to have warranty work performed at another repair shop following the sale and discovered that their warranty was not legitimate. Police say that they discovered that the paperwork was never filed and their warranty never existed. Croyle is charged with grand larceny. He was issued a ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Madison Court on August 31. |
