Ex-con talks to students on business ethicsMARCY, N.Y. (WKTV) - A man who bilked the state of Oklahoma out of millions of dollars spoke about business ethics at SUNYIT Thursday afternoon. Patrick Kuhes was involved in a fraud scheme that allowed him to receive higher commissions than anyone else on, while working in the state treasurer's office . Kuhes fled the country at one point, before turning him self in. He was sent to prison for 6 years and forced to pay $4 million in restitution. Thursday afternoon, he told students that wealth does not equal money, and to always make the right choices. "I don't know if it would have changed my choices in life, but if I would have a very blunt real definition of how this happens, it might have changed where I went later in life, and that is real my focus and mission," Kuhes said. Kuhes says he has paid back $800,000 $4 million he was ordered to pay back. |
