Utica Zoo's Annual Snowfari

Laurie Benedict

The city of Utica may not have as much white stuff as the north country but there was just enough for the Zoo's Annual Snowfari.

It was a fun filled day at Val Bialas on the parkway, new this year, a snowball softball tournament and a beer tent. And let's not forget about the famous cardboard sled race.

While it's all fun and games there is a competitive side to Snowfari too; athletes looking to qualify for this years Empire State Games. A good snow-shoer will need a lot of determination but not necessarily a lot of snow.

The best part about Snowfari is all that all the money raised goes directly to the Utica Zoo.
