Negotiations for nursing union not going well - picket may result

UTICA, NY (WKTV) - Negotiations between St. Elizabeth Medical Center and the nursing union are not going well - and a picket is planned as a result.

On Thursday, the New York State Nurses Association Union served the hospital with a picket notice. The nurses plan to hold a two-hour informational picket outside the hospital on Wednesday.

Officials with the union say the hospital offered the nurses a lower wage increase and tried to eliminate daily overtime payments.

Hospital officials have not returned our calls for comment.
