9/11 Remembrance Ceremonies being held across CNY

(WKTV) - Remembrance ceremonies are taking place across Central New York in honor of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Members of the Utica Fire Department are reading the names of the firefighters and police officers who lost their lives that day. They'll be doing so at 10:30 this morning at Utica City Hall.
American Legion Post 1058 in West Winfield is holding its annual Freedom Walk this evening. You can begin lining up at 6:45 at St. Joseph's Church on Main Street. The walk begins at 7:00pm.
Herkimer County Community College is holding a remembrance ceremony this morning. It is being held outside near the library and college center at 9:00am. It will feature speakers from the community, student body and faculty.
The Rome Police and Fire Departments are hosting a service this morning. It's being held at the Rome Fire and Police Memorial Park at 10:45am. Lance Corporal Mercedes Armstrong is the guest speaker.
The Village of Oriskany is holding a 9/11 memorial service this evening at 7:00pm. It's taking place at the Waterbury Memorial Church on Utica Street.
Firefighters, police officers and military officials in New York Mills are coming out for the village's annual remembrance ceremony tonight. You can join them at 6:30pm at the 9/11 Memorial at 320 Main Street.
The SUNY College at Oneonta will hold two observances of the tragic events of September 11, 2001, on Friday, September 11, 2009, at its 9/11 memorial in the upper campus quad between Fitzelle Hall and the Fine Arts Building. All are invited to attend the events.
At noon, SUNY Oneonta President Nancy Kleniewski will place a wreath at the 9/11 memorial and lead participants in a moment of silence to remember those who were lost on 9/11. Seven SUNY Oneonta alumni perished on that day.
At 7:30 p.m. at the 9/11 memorial, the Chi Phi fraternity will hold its second annual 9/11 candlelight vigil. The vigil will include addresses by guest speakers, a moment of silence, and the lighting of candles, which will be distributed at the event.
