Two incumbents lose primaries for Oneida County Legislature

ONEIDA COUNTY, NY (WKTV) - Only one of the three current members of the Oneida County Board of Legislators won their primary race Tuesday night. Utica Legislator Peter Caruso (D) won his primary but Utica Legislator Shannon Scott (D) and Waterville's Edward Stephenson (D) lost their respective primaries.

26th District Utica Legislator Peter Caruso won his Democratic primary against challanger Joseph Falcone, 52% to 48%.

22nd District Legislator Shannon Scott lost his Democratic primary to challanger Bruce Brodsky, 34% to 66%. Republican Howard Welch was elected unanimously to the Independence ticket for the same race.

3rd District Incument Edward Stephenson lost his primary for the Conservative ticket to challanger Patrick Brennan, 30% to 70%. The two men will still face each other in the general election on November 3.
