WAMPSVILLE, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Madison County man is facing charges; accused of stealing more than $100,000 from the Daimler Corporation.

According to State Police, David P. Ball, 64, of Wampsville, is facing charges of second-degree grand larceny. Authorities said Ball is accused of stealing roughly $134,850 from the Daimler Corporation, headquartered in Farmington Hills, MI, between August 2007 and May 2009.

Ball, a former employee of Daimler as a Fleet Service manager in their Eastern region, submitted falsified warranty claims to Daimler for repair work that was never performed on vehicles within the fleet he managed, authorities said.

According to State Police, Ball created a fictitious collision/paint repair business through which he submitted the repair orders to Daimler. Once Daimler received the repair orders they would remit payment to the fictitious business Ball created.

Ball is accused of then taking the checks Daimler had issued for the repairs and depositing them in to his personal bank account.

Ball was arraigned on the grand larceny charge in the City of Oneida court on Thursday, September 24, 2009.
