VIDEO INTERVIEW: State Police Captain Francis Coots at Longo residence

DEERFIELD, N.Y. (WKTV) - Authorities are currently on the scene in Deerfield of an incident that left one woman dead at the Cosby Manor Road residence of a Utica Police Investigator.

The home, located at 10508 Cosby Manor Road, is listed as that of Joseph Longo. Longo is a police officer with the Utica Police Department.

While officials remained tight-lipped as to the details of the incident, State Police Captain Francis Coots said a press conference would be held at 8 p.m. Monday night.

Neighbors at the scene said they had heard a gunshot, but State Police Captain Francis Coots said that one woman is dead, and one man was sent to the hospital. Coots said he was unaware of the man's status at the time.

Coots said they were not releasing any names of the victims and were processing the body. While he couldn't confirm why Utica Police were on the scene in Deerfield, he did say that it had something to do with why they couldn't release the names of the victims.
