UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Autopsies on the victims of Monday's murder-suicide in Deerfield reveal that Utica Police Investigator Joseph Longo, Jr. stabbed his wife, Kristin, 13 times, before stabbing himself more than 20 times.

New York State Police Captain Francis Coots says Kristin Longo's wounds were to the back and abdomen, and that Joseph Longo's wounds were to the abdomen. Coots noted that some of Kristin's wounds were defensive.

State Police found the couple in their Deerfield home after one of their children came home and ran to a neighbor's house to call 9-1-1. Police say Kristin Longo was dead when they arrived at the home, and that Joseph Longo, Jr. was still alive and admitted stabbing his wife then turning the knife on himself.
