Castorland man charged with cruelty to animals

CASTORLAND, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Lewis County man is facing animal cruelty charges after not providing nourishment to his dog.

According to Lewis County Sheriff's Deputies, it is alleged that Shawn R. Cowan, 34, of Castorland, did not provide proper food or water for his rottweiler dog.

Cowan has been charged with cruelty to animals, a misdemeanor, and issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Croghan Court.
