ILION, N.Y. (WKTV) - A 29 year old woman is in critical condition following an overnight stabbing in the Village of Ilion.

According to Ilion Police, around 12:50 a.m., officers arrived on the scene of Apartment D-1 at Remington Park apartments on Cottage Street, where they found the female stabbed several times. The woman was immediately sent by Ilion Ambulance to St. Elizabeth Medical Center for treatment where she underwent surgery for internal injuries. Police said she remained in critical condition as of Wednesday morning.

A Utica man - William Woods, 50, was located a short distance away with self-inflicted wounds and he was also sent to St. Elizabeth Medical Center. He was arraigned in Village Court and sent to the Herkimer County Correctional Facility in lieu of no bail.
