Strong out as Utica Food Bank Executive Director

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - During a down economy, the role a food bank plays in a community is highlighted. Currently, the Utica Community Food Bank is navigating these rough waters without its long-time Executive Director.

Board President Mark Wolber says that Kim Strong recently tendered her resignation citing medical reasons. So for now, board members are sharing the day to day responsibilities of running the food bank.

"And then we'll reassess the situation financially probably after the first of the year and eventually we do want to bring someone on as a paid executive director, who has experience with non profits and who can work with us but right now this is how we're going to be operating," says Wolber.

Wolber says Strong will not be returning to her position.
