Judge issues H1N1 restraining order
NEW YORK STATE (WKTV) - Healthcare workers in New York State do not have to get the H1N1 and seasonal flu vaccines after all - at least for now. On Friday, a State Supreme Court Judge granted a temporary restraining order, blocking the state's mandate that the healthcare workers get vaccinated. Recently, the State Health Commissioner had said the workers had to be vaccinated by November 30, or risk disciplinary action. The state's second largest healthcare worker's union filed suit, and Judge Thomas McNamara on Friday granted the restraining order, which will be in effect at least until the "State Supreme Court" can review the case during a hearing scheduled for October 30th. |
