Superintendent: nearly 25% of school population absent

By PAT BAILEY

ONEIDA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Almost 600 students in the Oneida City School District are out sick with the flu, a stomach virus and sore throats, said District Superintendent Ronald Spadafora.

Spadafora says the district has been monitoring the absences in all the schools.

Monday the district was forced to cancel after school activities, Spadafora said.

The superintendent says the district will continue to keep parents informed, and follow all safety measures to keep their students healthy.
