Swine Flu cases force age restrictions at local hospitals

(WKTV) - Oneida County Health Department officials announced Friday morning they have instituted temporary age restrictions due to the swine flu.

Effective immediately, Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, St. Elizabeth Medical Center and Rome Memorial Hospital are restricting visitors to healthy adults, 18 years and older.

Officials are urging residents to consult their family physician if they experience flu-like symptoms before going to a hospital emergency room.

Persons experiencing a persistent high fever or respiratory problems should seek medical attention.
