Brian Sandler leaving NEWSChannel 2

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Brian Sandler, the weekend sports anchor and Sports Express co-anchor, announced that he will leave NEWSChannel 2 after more than five years. Brian began his broadcasting career at NEWSChannel 2 in 2004.

Brian has anchored the Saturday and Sunday sportscasts at 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. along with filing sports reports on weekdays. On Fridays, he co-anchors Sports Express along with Sports Director Jason Powles. Behind the scenes, Brian produces his sportscasts and shoots his own sports highlights at games all across the area.

Brian will take on a similar position in the sports department for cable channel News 10 Now based in Syracuse.

Brian is a 2004 graduate of Syracuse University.

Brian's final sportscast will be the Sports Express broadcast on Friday, October 30. A replacement for Brian has not yet been announced.
