Details of agreement between St. E's and nurses not to be released until after voteUTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A tentative agreement has been reached between the union representing nurses at St. Elizabeth Medical Center and the hospital management, possibly averting a strike. Nine hours of negotiations between the union and the hospital wrapped up around 9 p.m. on Wednesday. It was during these talks that the tentative agreement was reached. The union of 500 nurses had previously voted to authorize a strike against the hospital. A New York State Nurses Association union representative said the details of the agreement will not be released until after a ratification vote, which is set for November 5 and 6. The nurses has been working without a contract since June 30. |
