Herkimer man killed after being hit by car; no charges filed currently

HERKIMER, N.Y. (WKTV) - 47-year-old Preston Scott of Herkimer was killed after sustaining injuries when he was hit from behind by a car on West German Street. The driver was 19-year-old Jessica Zulla of Utica.

According to authorities, Scott was walking along West German Street in the Town of Herkimer, near the village border, when he was hit from behind by Zulla's vehicle at around 6:50 p.m.. He later succumbed to his injuries.

An autopsy will be performed on the victim on Sunday at the Little Falls Hospital.

At this time, there is no word of any pending charges to be filed on the driver. The investigation is continuing.
