Wimmers pleads guilty to manslaughter of infant daughter

Wimmers is accused in the 2008 death of her infant daughter - Daniella Sapienza in Deerfield, N.Y. (Kelly Fuller / WKTV) UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The former Deerfield woman accused of smothering her daughter to death has pleaded guilty. LeAnn Wimmers, 20, plead guilty to the charge of second-degree manslaughter Monday morning in Oneida County Court. The 20 year old Wimmers was accused of smothering her 4 month old daughter to death in their home last year. Wimmers faces 5-15 years in prison and is scheduled to be sentenced on December 14.
