Kiwanis Club holds annual Prayer Breakfast

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Church for many ends by Sunday afternoon, but Monday at the Radisson Hotel in Utica, this morning marked the beginning of prayer.

Community leaders, elected officials and others from Central New York gathered at the Kiwanis prayer breakfast.

Organizers say the tradition is designed to help leaders step-aside from politics for a moment to think about their community, "It's an opportunity for community leaders elected officials and the general community and those seeking pub office to take a little bit of time to sit back relax and reflect on what's needed for our community," Kiwanis Club Board Member Janine Carzo.

Kiwanis officials say the prayer breakfast tradition has been around for more than 60 years.
