Sherrill teen charged after alleged "inappropriate behavior" in van

SHERRILL, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Sherrill teen has been charged after authorities said he was acting inappropriately in a vehicle parked near a school bus.

According to Sherrill Police, a witness reported seeing a van driving slowly on East Hinds Ave and then stopping near the witness' residence. The witness told police that they then saw the driver of the van engaging in what police call "inappropriate behavior."

Police said that there were children reported near the immediate vicinity of the van, waiting for a school bus. The witness told police they tried to approach the van, but that it then sped away. The witness then passed along a description of the vehicle to police.

Following the description, police located William J. Marshall, 17, of Sherrill. Marshall was charged with public lewdness and endangering the welfare of a child.

He is scheduled to answer the charged in Sherrill City Court at a later date.
