New York Mills resident celebrates 100th birthday

NEW YORK MILLS, N.Y. (WKTV) - Country Club Courts in New York Mills enjoyed an important milestone - a resident turning 100 years old.

Helen Gargask celebrated 100th birthday with balloons, cake, family and friends. She said she doesn't have a secret for living such a long life and that she just lives day to day.

"No, I have nothing to say," Gargask said. "I don't know. I can't give anybody any advice because mine works for me and I don't know if it will work for you."

Helen worked as a seamstress until she was 65. When asked what she has planned for the next hundred years, her answer was just to rest.
