Utica and New York Mills team up for prescription drug program

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Residents in Utica and New York Mills could soon save substantial money on prescription drugs through a national program.

Utica Mayor David Roefaro and New York Mills Mayor Robert Maciol met with seniors to discuss a prescription drug discount program available to their residents.

According to the mayors, this card will save a person anywhere between 5 and 40-percent on prescription drugs.

Roefaro says the program is paid for by "Envision Medical Solutions" and says he's glad to bring potential savings to the area.

"In these trying times...medical prescriptions cost quite a bit of money," Mayor Roefaro said. "and this is one way we feel we can save taxpayers some money."

Roefaro says the card is open to anyone, not just seniors. Utica residents can pick up discount drug cards at city hall, and those in New York Mills can get them at the village library.
