Herkimer native promoted to new position in Washington

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WKTV) - A Herkimer native has been selected for a top government position.

Jeffrey Culver is now the Director of the Diplomatic Security Service in Washington. He was appointed by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

The diplomatic security arm helps maintain more than 280 U.S. diplomatic missions around the world.

Culver is a 1978 graduate of Mohawk High School.
