Area veterans take tour of local monuments

ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. (WKTV) - Veterans from a variety of service branches and wars got a special chance to see some of the area's monuments dedicated them and those who serve our country.

Preswick Glen offered the free tour to veterans on Monday. Some of the stops included the New Hartford Veterans Park and U.S.S. Oriskany Museum.

For Jack Dale, one World War II vet, taking time to recognize them and others means a lot. Plus, it's special meaning for those who have died.

"Lot's of different wars," said Dale. "It's remarkable how many different people sacrificed themselves in service of their country. I'm proud of all of them."

Monday's trip also allowed veterans to meet new friends and talk with old war buddies too.
